Microdigital expand Alpha product line

Posted by Andrew Poole on 17:46, 9/10/2003 | , , , , , , ,

"Due to the success of the Alpha Notebook", Microdigital write in their latest Newsdesk item, "we have extended the range to keep up with customer requirements."

Microdigital's Alpha range has expanded to include 4 new models, all with improved specifications and other new features ranging from higher performance processors to a 17" screen.

The Alpha Professional has been removed, and the range now consists of the M1, M2, M3 Vantage, M4 Vantage and M5 Max. Despite the name similarities, the M3 Vantage and M4 Vantage have nothing to do with Cerilica's graphics package of the same name.

Each laptop is shipped with Windows XP home (or professional if for an additional cost) and RISC OS 4 which runs under the VirtualAcorn emulator. Customers who would like RISC OS Select can run that for an extra cost. Unfortunatley, there seems to be no mention of the prices for these laptops on the Microdigital website.

If you are quick, you may also be able to snap up one of their three special offer Alphas, which were used for testing purposes and appeared at the Wakefield Show earlier in the year.
