You're now looking at the new and improved Icon Bar server (Nave).
There are a few problems booting up which I've got to figure out, but all websites should now be available so long as there isn't a power cut for longer than the UPS holds out! :)
Web, mail, FTP and SSH all appear to be working properly now, and I've been going through a number of websites checking that the various features work. There was a library missing for the counters CGI, but that's been fixed. POP3 mail fetching has now been set up, but then I'm the only one not using Neo purely as a mail forwarder. Looks like switching PHP3 to PHP4 has been painless.

I'm not sure that people dialling in with standard modems will notice much difference, but my PC on the office network is loading even CGI generated pages pretty much instantly. |

Looks like I didn't mess up rojo/code vault, there was nothing there to transfer in the first place. |

(BTW, it's not a "cack colocation", it's "hidden away in the office I work at". ArgoNet have some good colocation facilities, but not for free ;) |

Pepperfish is quite pricey if you want all the professional features. Does it come with real-time Contol Panel to adjust email, MySQL, subdomains etc or is that all requested by email? |

Michael: We tend to hope that our customers have clue, so we only normally supply ssh accounts and let people tweak their config files themselves. However, there is a web front end for completely configuring your POP boxes and mail forwarders for any domains, and fairly good webmail. We don't actually plan on suppling MySQL unless people actually ask for it, as we prefer PostgreSQL for most things. A complete web-interface to configure everything is planned for people who can't grasp running a website well, or for lazy people ;-) Keep an eye out; it's on the way.
Also, we're open to bartering if you want all the 'professional' features - they do actually cost a bob or two to implement - also note that we pay a fortune for a good connection to the internet, off-site backup etc. |
