David Llewellyn-Jones has released a brand new Email client, TapirMail.
Small enough to fit (easily) onto a floppy disc it allows you to check your emails from any RISC OS machine connected to the internet.
Some of its technical details are as follows:
- Built in POP3 and SMTP protocol support for receiving and sending emails
- Saves no files to disc, ensuring safe use on any machine
- Multiple email account settings
- Allows the encryption of account details using Blowfish
- Indent colouring to improve email readability
- Downloads only those emails requested; ideal for slower connections
- Small program size can easily be fitted on a floppy disc
- Ideal for use with a USB pen drive
I've had a very brief play with it and can confirm that it is dead simple to setup and use and it does exactly what it says on the tin, although where it gets its name from is anyone's guess!
I'm expecting LlamaBrowse to appear anytime now.
TapirMail is a shareware program and costs £5 to register.
Read all about and download it from the TapirMail website.

No it's infinitely *times* more expensive than freeware but only 5 pounds more expensive than freeware. No IMAP or IMAP-SSL so no use to me :( |
